Our Faculty Member's TÜBİTAK 1002-A Project was Accepted

Muş Alparslan University is preparing to host a valuable project. The "Lactic Acid Bacteria Single Cell Protein Based Antimicrobial Bioplastic Production" project, supported within the scope of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) ARDEB 1002 Rapid Support Program, was carried out by Dr. It was entitled to be supported under the leadership of Halil İbrahim Uzun. In the project, Dr. Faculty Member Harun Önlü is the advisor and Dr. Arif Karadağ will take part as a researcher.

Whey, which is considered as waste within the scope of the project and is one of the big problems throughout Muş; It will be used to grow lactic acid bacteria, and biosafe and antimicrobial bioplastic will be produced from the grown bacteria. Thus, it is aimed to contribute to the industry by reducing waste and creating an alternative to petroleum-derived plastics.

This important project is expected to be an important milestone in the field of bioplastic production. The results of the research may shed light on the development of environmentally friendly and effective antimicrobial bioplastics.
